Robert C. Alden
With nearly two decades of experience, Robert C. Alden has earned a reputation as one of Austin’s top trial lawyers. Recognized by Best Lawyers in America as one of the best lawyers for commercial litigation, he was also named as a "Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly in September 2005.
In September 2001, Mr. Alden joined Byrd Davis Furman as a partner. In addition to commercial litigation, he tries personal injury, wrongful death and product liability cases in State and Federal courts.
Robert Alden’s practice encompasses a wide range of civil and commercial disputes in areas such as insurance coverage and insurance fraud, securities fraud, real estate and partnership disputes, products liability, construction defects, professional malpractice, bank fraud, corporate director and officer liability, and deceptive trade practices.
Mr. Alden is admitted to the Texas State Bar, the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court.
He began his legal career as a trial lawyer with the Austin law firm McGinnis, Lochridge and Kilgore, and later was a partner in the trial section of Bracewell & Patterson, L.L.P.
Mr. Alden earned his Juris Doctorate with “high honors” from the University of Texas School of Law. He also received both a Masters of Public Affairs and Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
Very active in professional and community affairs, Mr. Alden has served on several Austin Bar Association committees. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Texas Bar Foundation and the Robert Calvert Inn of Court.
