Staying Safe at ACL

It's that time of the year again!

ACL Fest has rolled into town, and Austin is gearing up to have a good time. Here at Byrd Davis Alden & Henrichson, we believe in having a great time, but staying safe in order to do so. Before you and your loved ones head out for a long, hot weekend of live music, here are a few basic safety tips:

Basic Festival Safety:

It seems like an old theory, but it is tried and true. Use the buddy system. Have a friend who is responsible for knowing where you are at all times. Never wander off alone and never let your friends wander off either. And keep that cell phone charged!! Share your location with your friends and TAKE THE PASSCODE OFF YOUR PHONE. People are mostly decent and if you do lose your phone, they will be able to open it and contact your friends.

Whether you are an Austin native or visitor, the following tips can help keep you safe while on 6th.

Proactive vs. Reactive Measures in the Workplace

An ideal work environment is an environment in which employees feel their safety and well being is considered a top priority. Accidents in the workplace are often unpredictable and erratic, however implementing proactive procedures rather than reactive measures make it easier to deal with the aftermath of an event. The differences between proactive measures and reactive measures may be the determining factor that decide whether or not a business or company recovers from the incident.FreeConsultation_Austin_Accident_Lawyer.jpg

Should I Sue Over a Grocery Store Slip and Fall?

Slip-and-fall accidents in grocery stores happen pretty frequently, but the victims often are unaware of their rights to sue. Many victims do not realize the legal responsibility a store has for slip and fall violations. If you slipped and fell in a grocery store, consider thee points on whether or not to sue:

Can You Sue if Your Child Suffered a Slip and Fall at School?

Children are prone to running around without a care in the world, but every now and then this innocent play will turn into a more serious accident. Children are at a big risk for slip and fall accidents, especially at the school where they spend most of their time. If your child was injured while at school, a personal injury lawsuit may seem like the most obvious answer. There are more steps when it comes to filing a suit against a government agency, however. And because public schools are owned by the government, you might need to fight harder to get recovery for your child's injuries.

Can You Sue for Food Poisoning?

While coming down with food poising does present an unpleasant experience, is it enough to warrant a lawsuit against the provider of these harmful foods? In some cases, food poisoning may lead to a lawsuit alongside a significant recovery. If the injuries are severe enough, victims of food poisoning might be able to sue for millions on the grounds of negligence.
